Knowledge of the basic concepts of project management and the features of grant management will allow you to use specific tools in your activities that will allow you to move from the conceptual development stage to the step-by-step implementation of your project within the framework of donor grant support.

Chapter 1. Project management:
  • the main characteristics of the concept of "project";
  • differences between purpose, goals and objectives;
  • hierarchical and logical relationships between the goal, objectives, tasks, and results;
  • principles of goal setting;
  • analytical tools for project programming
  • understanding of indicators and their types;
  • result programming;
  • risks, their types; risk management (crisis management);
  • one of the main tools of project management: - logical-structural matrix;
  • relevance and issues of the project;
  • stages of the project and work plan;
  • project team, functional responsibilities in the project;
  • communication and content plan of the project;
  • project sustainability and scalability (sustainability).
Practical task 1. Project programming.
Learning the differences and relationships between goals, objectives, and outcomes in a real project. Identification of risks. Duration - 1 hour.
Practical task 2. Completing the logical-structural matrix
Students are asked to fill in the table in accordance with the learned lecture information and based on Practical Task 1. Duration - 1 hour
Chapter 2. Grant management
  • The difference between project and grant management;
  • concept of grant and classification of grants;
  • donation; state and private donors (grantors);
  • mechanism for obtaining grant support;
  • peculiarities of grant project management
  • preparatory stage: donor requirements, possible stages of selection, project application, budgeting and financial constraints.
  • project implementation stage: interim reports; crisis management;
  • communication with the donor;
  • reporting stage: report forms - substantive and financial, mandatory components and necessary data
  • sustainability of the grant project (sustainability and scaling);
  • the role of partnership and strengthening of the grant project;
  • diversification of funds;
  • crowdfunding;
  • project commercialization and limitations within grant agreements
Practical task 3
Programming the goal and objectives of the project according to the instructions. Filling out the structure of the grant application. Duration - 1 hour
